Nine Steps To Building Your Dream Home
  1. We begin with a short interview focused on the kind of community you wish to live in—whether golf, lake, or mountain community. We will give you an idea of typical costs in your preferred community for the type and size of home you desire.

  2. For our out-of-town clients: Kemp will be your personal guide on a tour of Catawba County and the surrounding area. He will give details on the schools, medical facilities, churches, dining and shopping opportunities available in each area. If you wish, Kemp will highlight the full-service retirement communities where he builds custom homes. Also, he is able to discuss the approximate land costs of specific areas. As a native of Catawba County, Kemp is an excellent resource for any questions you may have about our area. When necessary, Kemp will travel to your area to discuss your building needs.

  3. If you have already selected a lot for your new custom home, Kemp will go with you to make an on-site inspection. Otherwise, he will be happy to help you locate your ideal lot.

  4. We have a great working relationship with several area architects/designers. Kemp will accompany you on the interview process and assist you in choosing the design professional who suits you the best. He will continue to work with you until you feel comfortable with your final choice.

  5. Your architect/designer will complete a set of preliminary drawings, after which Kemp will accompany you to a meeting where these drawings will be analyzed. This is to ensure that the plans meet your needs, desires, and budget. If not, Kemp will suggest the necessary changes.

  6. We will introduce you to local bankers and help you find good financing options.

  7. During the construction process, we will work together with you and our preferred vendors and suppliers to ensure the best value and products for your new home. We will escort you to their various locations and assist you in making selections, if you desire. We are also happy to recommend some outstanding local interior designers to help you make these choices.

  8. You will receive plenty of updates from us during construction—everything from simple phone calls to on-site inspections, according to your preference. If you are out of the area, we will email photo updates.

  9. After construction, your beautiful new custom home will be warranted for one full year, which is our standard minimum warranty. An optional ten-year warranty is available.
